Job Description Summary

Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) at GE Aerospace is focused at providing useful information about aircraft engines health condition and its components. PHM engineers define and implement requirements across the PHM data lifecycle with stake holders. PHM data lifecycle comprehends from the data creation and signal processing in the on-board systems to the culmination in data driven decisions for business purposes.

Data processing includes ingestion, treatment and visualization of data. PHM engineers will learn about GE’s data cycle, existing business tools to process data, database structure and relationships, as well as the opportunity to develop new tools (back & front end) and processes to provide data users with data characteristics required for analysis.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Learn about the GE Aircraft engines PHM system architecture. Collaborate, learn, and work with PHM stakeholders and experts for each engine PHM-related subsystem.

• Learn about big data manipulation and the use of metadata for feature extraction and provide business insights from data. Within that process it is expected to develop software that aids to data connection, manipulation or visualization in both: frontend and backend development.

• Learn to timely communicate data issues to both Technical Leadership and upper Management.

• Collaboratively develop PHM software using Model-Based Design or Hand Coded languages Verification & Validation activities for PHM software.

Required Qualifications

• BS Degree in aerospace engineering related areas: Systems Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar.

• Demonstrated programming skills in one of the following: Python, Java, C++, C.

• Basic SQL skills.

• Demonstrated skills to quickly learn new programming languages and technologies.

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

• Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.

• Demonstrated ability in establishing goals and objectives.

• Disciplined, self-driven, shows initiative and is proactive.

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge on aircraft engines performance and operational parameters

• Basic experience in frontend development in one of the following languages: HTML, CSS, java4

• Basic experience in prototyping analytic solutions for complex problems

• Basic experience in data analysis, data engineering and data Science
